Mass and 6th Grade
On January 24, 6th grade students participate in the liturgy by reading the readings, responsorial, prayers of the faithful, and serving as altar servers and gift bearers. But wait! That's not all! Students also led the reflection after the reading of the Gospel. As we know, the priest is the only one who can give a homily, but Brother Mike wanted to add another aspect to the Mass, which is a reflection. The reflection is given after the Gospel reading so teachers and students can have a bigger role in the Mass.
Students did a great job leading the reflection that was about a method of prayer that Pope Francis came up as a way to help people remember who we should consider in our daily prayers.
Thumb--for those we love
Index--for those who teach and heal
Ring--for the sick and those plagued with problems
Pinky--for yourself
6th Grade--You did an awesome job reading and teaching others during the Mass!
