All School Advent Prayer Service
Thank you, Mrs. Flynn, Mrs. Colletti, and Mr. Zaccaria for making Advent a special time at SWS.
Just enjoying the Christmas season in 6th grade
Bravo, 6th grade! I know I wasn't the only one who enjoyed your singing. 2nd grade did a good job singing with you.
Christmas Caroling at Bethesda.
All the students made our school proud today. Seeing the kids smiling while greeting the residents and even sitting down with some of them to chat, made my heart sing with glee. One of the many reasons why I love SWS and working with such wonderful students and families.
Happy St. Nicholas Day!
6th grade students sewed a stocking and St. Nicholas put a few goodies in it because 6th grade students are awesome! Later on in the day, all the SWS students placed one shoe outside the classroom and were surprised to find that a tasty candy cane was placed inside their shoes.
Christmas Nativity
After painting a background where colors were blended, students traced, cut, and assembled a beautiful Nativity scene.
Shopping at Santa's Secret Shop
Celebrating the 1st week of Advent with an All School Advent Prayer Service. Each week during Advent, the faculty, staff, and students will gather first thing Monday morning for a special prayer service. Everyone at SWS is also encouraged to participate in Mission Monday. When at least $1.00 is donated, students, faculty and staff can dress out of uniform or dress down for the day. After all the generous donations are collected they will be given to Mr. P. Bezazian, the Illinois VFW Homeless Chairman, who will use the funds for the Homeless Vets Project. Mr. Bezazian has close ties to SWS because all three of his children graduated from our school. Thank you Mr. Bezazian for all you and your organization does to help our veterans. Thank you also to all those who are participating in Mission Monday.
