Editing and Collaborating and Exploring--OH MY!

Editing and Collaborating and Exploring--OH MY!

Students are collaborating while peer editing and using technology. Map projections and lab work are the focus in science. Practicing following steps in a process as a team, in order to explore a model of a hemisphere, then projecting it onto a flat surface, took a lot of patience and a steady hand.

Cubs Day at SWS!

As promised, Brother Mike kept his promise by wearing his 1st Cubs shirt. Brother Mike has a wonderful sense of humor and first appeared outside wearing a Sox jersey. I'm sure the neighbors heard the students cheering as Brother Mike removed his Sox jersey to display his new Cubs shirt. What a fun day! Thank you to all the families who donated to help those dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Thank you Cari for bringing the W flag for Brother Mike to hold---lol.
Thanks Brother Mike for giving the students such a fun incentive in order to help others. #FlytheW

Question #1 for 6th grade students

What Web Site or App should we use in 6th Grade and why?

6th grade--please read the question and comment. Be sure to proofread before you post.

For your first blog post comment, we will start with something simple. It's your turn to teach me something about technology. Please tell me at least one web site or app that you think we should use in school and why. The goal is to state your opinion, explain the web site/app and persuade me to agree with you. You might be thinking, how long does this have to be? Well, that depends on you.  I'm not looking for length, I'm looking for quality of the sentences and if you completed the task.
To recap--Information needed--

  1. Name of web site/app.
  2. Brief summary with details about the site/app.
  3. Explain your reasons why this site/app should be used in our classroom, meaning--prove it.
  4. Include a link to the web site/app.
English grade based on including all required information listed above, spelling, and standard English skills correctly used.

Mystery Hangouts

ENJOY!

Participating in Mystery Hangouts is something new for our 6th graders this year. It's a great opportunity for students to meet other students from different parts of our big, beautiful world.
