5th Grade--Quizlet Live

5th grade had fun in social studies class playing #QuizletLive. Students worked in teams to answer questions about geography and Halloween. It was fun watching the students work collaboratively to come up with one answer for each question. I know we will be playing this fun and educational game again, soon.

#Flipgrid 6th grade Vocabulary

Students in 6th grade worked together to make a video dictionary to help review the vocabulary units 1-3.
Enjoy!

Red Ribbon Week, 2019

Students in 3rd and 6th grade spent some time together getting to know each other and playing board games. The purpose was to show the students about making good choices of how to spend your time. Sixth grade looks forward to more get togethers with our 3rd grade friends.
Be sure to watch the slideshow of some of the other classes enjoying an activity with their grade partner friends.

Halloween Magnetic Poetry

Sixth grade students used Google Drawing and a template from Shake Up Learning to create silly and creepy Halloween poems using "fridge magnets" on a set background. Students used writing and tech skills to create these ghoulish sights. Please excuse any blurriness, I am using the free version of a movie making account because I don't have a paid subscription. Thus the quality is not as clear as the paid version.

Playground Time!

Since we finished our assignments for the day, I took the students out to Pat's Playground for some fun in the sun during this beautiful fall day.

6th Grade Science

Yay! 6th through 8th grade are using a new science series this year that includes online and hands-on resources and activities. In these photos, students are simulating what it is like to be an ecologist who tracks a specific species, but we are using beans to represent the animals. Each bag contains 150 beans and 15 of those beans are marked. Following the procedures of the lab, students worked through the procedures of mark and recapture that involved several math skills including using a formula that ecologists use to estimate the size of a population.

October

October is the month of the Rosary. Together, we decorated beads to form our own classroom Rosary that is placed in our prayer corner.
